  Beautiful adaptation of shadow over innsmouth.  Shuffled around a bit with some solid artistic liberties, it conveyed the sense of impending horror and grotesquerie of the short story without being hemmed in by it. 

  Decent performances, though not wholly consistent throughout. 

  The effects were fine, but the atmosphere, and that damn rain went above and beyond. 

  Points for putting the gratuitous nudity so close to the skin flensing.
