A slow-burning film about being young and confused about life. I'm not so sure about the static frames at times, but it's certainly bold directing and editing.
Malik innately understands the form of cinema, and despite this film’s problematic shooting and editing schedules, he was able to create poetry in muted passions in the Texas Panhandle. I won’t say that I was fully engrossed, but like many of Malik’s films, Days of Heaven does lead you to think about the everyday much deeper.
