Tourist Train 1933
A modest film made up of small affairs and simple characters, set in an equally sober and unspoiled Italy, shot mainly en plein air.
Still, Treno popolare remains, for the few dialogue parts, the many phantom rides shots and a clear reference to James Williamson's The Big Swallow (1901), a film still tied to the language of the silent era.Translated from by

1860 1934
"1860" has a couple of positive aspects but fails to overcome several critical issues related to the historical reality it tells: the story is in many parts shaped to coincide with the regime's narrative, especially in its nationalist rhetoric.
To be recognized is, however, the handling of the mass scenes, mainly visible in the last battle's staging. In any case, the film isn't comparable with the great European or American titles of the same decade.Translated from by -
Resurrection 1931
Visually a very well-made film, relying on some distinctive techniques of the silent era (mainly multiple exposures), but being one of the first Italian talkies, the film has many sound flaws, only partially hidden by the classical soundtrack. On the other hand, the worst part of Resurrection is the plot, the one aspect of the title that has aged the most.
