another banger from bong joon-ho!! i thought about giving this 4.5 at first but for what?? i enjoyed the movie and nothing struck me as dumb. feels like ruffalo set the tone for the realist absurdity (im coining that term) these characters would behave at and everybody matched it. love it!

some movies are so excellently crafted a review is not really called for but let’s get into it nonetheless.
the color palette makes the movie. the picture perfect home-life under muted tones set to the backdrop of the casual horrors of auschwitz makes me feel like this is the aesthetic antithesis of the sound of music.
the way the wife/mother only half acknowledges she lives next to a deathcamp when shes going on about her plans to further insulate herself…
