The Lighthouse 2019
One of the few films from this era I can see becoming a cult classic. The performances from Dafoe and Pattinson are incredibly compelling and elevate the film to the next level. The Promethean/mythological elements are a nice touch and add to the surrealness when combined with the 19th century lighthouse setting.
There are some great sequences in here that really capture the descent into madness. The decision to shoot in black and white with a 1.19:1 aspect ratio contributes…

A comedy/horror about being terminally online. I enjoyed this way more than I expected to. The cinematography didn't feel gimmicky and the movie wasn't preachy despite having a message. Honestly it's just fun in addition to being great satire. This is also one of the few movies about the Internet that actually seems to understand Internet culture.
