Anora tells a story in three parts about a stripper from Brighton Beach, a neighborhood of Brooklyn with a large Russian and Eastern European population. Anora (Mikey Madison) is in her mid-20s and works at a club in Midtown, where the movie opens. She’s good at what she does. She seems worldly-wise and headstrong, artfully persuading drunk middle aged men to hit the ATM and spend greater and greater sums on her services. She’s completely unbothered by jealous spats…
