Hooptober 2022: NEUN!
Lush, colourful and an absolute gut punch. Bulbbul is a gem I'm very happy to have stumbled upon. It's visually stunning without feeling oversaturated or over-the-top. In a world of washed-out, grayscale horror films, that alone makes it a breath of fresh air. I'll definitely be rewatching at some point, if just to catch all the intricacies and hidden details.
Many thanks to my dear friend Anushka, who told me ages ago that Bulbbul would be right up my street. As usual, she was right on the money.

Hooptober 2022: NEUN!
I consistently find myself drawn to the juxtaposition of beauty and the macabre, so this film was right up my alley. The Wicker Man kept me guessing all the way until the end. I was hugely fortunate in that I knew virtually nothing going in, just that it was a folk-horror classic and an absolute must watch. I've only just finished and I'm already keen on a rewatch.
