This was like watching a 2.5 hour long Instagram ad for horror porn.
Disappointingly flat in storytelling, score, aesthetics, costuming, and direction, this film is a joke. Much like the Lighthouse, this was Eggers narcissistically jerking himself off – this time with a bigger budget and cast. A disgrace to the original story and previous film adaptations, he assumed all of us in the audience were dumb and basically spoon-fed us the story without leaving us anything to chew on.…
