It’s a sorta comfort movie, especially since Emma Stone’s character (Olive) stays strong through every ordeal she goes through, sticking to her values and knowing her self worth. These qualities are not easy to have in high school. She was lucky to run into Penn Badgley’s character (Todd) to rely on, not that he single-handedly saved the day or anything. I just feel like his character as well as the ending was very Disney-esque. So the only thing bad about…

Say Anything... 1989
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
As someone who just graduated high school, I think this was a nice movie to watch before going off to college. It really allowed me to reflect on my own time at high school and on my summer before college. I admit, it wasn’t the best rom-com out there and it was kinda long, but what I did like was (semi-spoilers but not really) that they included awkward romantic moments. It was refreshing, because it was simple and in the moment; its relatability and realism made it more comforting.
