The Boat That Rocked 2009
This movie captures the spirit of radio in a nice 2 1/4 hour nutshell.
It is very 60s-level sexist, looking back at it again, and it aged pretty badly... plus it drags a bit too long IMO. But maaaan I have a soft spot for this movie. I don't know, probably the broadcast lover in me. Also Philip Seymour Hoffman casually doing Philip Seymour Hoffman greatness, and arguably the best soundtrack in a 21st century film. I will stand by that.
Dare I say it's rock n' roll? ;) I'll stop.

What? I really liked this movie but I'm genuinely lost. Parts felt like they're incredibly deep, emotional and moving, and then parts of it just feel like scenes from a Disney Channel movie in both good and bad ways. It's incredibly funny in most aspects, and the emotional scenes hit hard.. But like, this feels way too corporate for the direction it tries to point itself in.
