A refreshingly soft, raw, unromanticised and well-informed look at sex work. Brutally unflinching, but warm and affectionate towards sex workers which I’ve never seen done so well in a piece of fiction. We really went on the emotional rollercoaster right alongside Ani. My heart ached for her.

Igor was a really well-executed audience conduit present throughout the chaos. Yura Borisov and Mikey Madison were incredible.

Plus, who doesn’t love a bumbling henchmen clowning scene to lighten the mood.

This was fully a case of ‘I’ve got one chance to put everything I’ve ever wanted to comment on in one giant 2+ hour movie’ and tbh I loved it. Throw everything at the wall and see what sticks. Every frame of this movie is a work of art. And the light!! And the sound, right from the beginning! The explosions - I’ve never given a shit about explosions in any movie but the explosions in this one are BEAUTIFUL. I have a PhD thesis somewhere in my brain about light in this movie, I’m just not going to write it. And the harkonnen! And their planet!!!! Immaculate, perfect, visually breathtaking
