The Brutalist 2024
I tried but didn’t enjoy much of it. Touches on themes of capitalism, American exceptionalism, freedom, antisemitism (and more I can’t think of), ya know the ushe but doesn’t really explore any one thing as well as it thinks it does nor does it do it in any compelling way than it just…happening.
Runtime felt more self indulgent to give me that vista vision than really necessary to tell this story. It didn’t feel grand as it just covered a lot of ground and real tight cinematography (like, we saw his library work from outside the library).
