I have to give this one 5 stars. Another film I hadn’t read into at all before watching, and I really didn’t expect the story that unfolded but it was overall wonderfully aesthetic, sexy and spooky.
The outfits, scenery and the colours were really captivating.. as well as the symmetry of all of the casts faces.
Now that I reflect on watching the film, understanding Oliver’s character was a rollercoaster of emotions…i remember an overall feeling of sympathy interlaced…
I didn’t read anything about this film before I watched it - “just another horror about nuns that I’m seeing at Wood Green vue for a fiver”, I had thought beforehand. Nonetheless, I was very pleasantly surprised! It was a really captivating and interesting story, and whilst disturbing, very beautifully filmed. Gory but not too much of it, scary but not too much fright. And this is where I really saw the talent of Sydney Sweeney, especially during the final scene where the emotion and animalistic rage of her character was conveyed so convincingly that I really felt it!
Obsessssed with Florence as always. The film started off quite slow but once it picked up it was really quite brilliant. The depiction of religion and faith was haunting in a great way, and even more fascinating that it’s based on a true story!
