Incredibly uncomfortable and unconvincing. I feel as though this movie might’ve taken itself too seriously. Challengers was a sexy movie that knew what it was and overall felt cohesive. The scenes were choppy, (possibly for shock value) and dialogue painfully awkward.
I hate to be a party pooper but the messaging that the movie portrays about consent is harmful. An unsuspecting individual might mistake this dynamic as only freaky/taboo. It disregards the reality of harmful dynamics that someone would be prone to if put in a situation that made them feel a sense of pleasure/independence similar to what was portrayed.
