The Brutalist 2024
This movie was way too long. Land the plane already.
The first act rocked, and the second act sucked. The story had some of the intriguing parts of Tar and some of the nasty parts of Poor Things.
Some of the themes were way too on the nose (e.g., the upside-down Statue of Liberty, America sucks ass, great artists struggle with fidelity and sobriety, etc.).
The soundtrack was excellent, and I enjoyed the lighting on many of the shots. Guy Pearce was the spitting image of Carter Pewterschmidt.
Gonna sleep on it, three stars for now.
