What I thought would just be a movie about someone with incredible gifts turned out to be all too relatable, as it addresses how so many of us refuse to acknowledge our own gifts for the sake of control in our life. This movie has something for everybody, and something to learn from every character.

This movie has always been funny, whether it’s the characters, dialogue, or absurd comedic timing with some of the camera cuts. What I never expect are the gut emotional punches they hit you with. There’s something amazing about how it’s handled in a comedy; Tommy and Richard are both experiencing immense grief and bond over that, revealing how one thing in common can change the dynamics of our own relationships. If anything, this movie taught me that a couple handy road flares and a watch are all I need to capture someone’s attention.
This wasn’t the most complicated or interesting cast of *main* characters (that one pelican could’ve had his own movie), but there were plenty of scenes without a word being said that just let the animation speak for itself and covey a lot the emotions to you without needing to say a single word. The dramatic scenes felt equally matched by humor, so I enjoyed it all the way through.

I loved practically every character and the story itself, but it felt like Snow had some kind of switch flipped near the end of the movie that messed up his gradual corruption and fully leaned into it instead
