The Brutalist 2024
sat on this review for a few days and still have nothing bad to say about it
the pacing and the drive of the film is EXCELLENT (one of the very few 3+ hour movies that don't feel like you're wasting your time), i'm convinced joe alwyn is actually evil, and adrien brody was absolutely incredible as usual
also i need more long af movies to put in an intermission - that shit was fun as hell

i read half of the manga back in college and it completely reshaped how i view myself + making art + chasing your passions
the live action adaptation captures this same sentiment perfectly. your hobbies deserve to be one of the things in your life that you invest yourself in. cried happy tears all througout the final exam and now i'm off to go start a new sketchbook.
