I see that the gap between the prologue and epilogue has been criticized for being too big or too drastic. I think by doing so Goiginger actually points out the occurring slow violence in society and in nature. Sure, the “Tiroler Freiheitsgedanke“ might be at stake, but I believe this film can actually be related to a much bigger narrative of inherited trauma on humans and Earth within this particular geography. A truly intersectional piece of work.
