    It's kinda insane that a movie that deals with latinos dealing with gentrification were written and directed by two white men who were a part of the gentrification of Echo Park themselves. The cast actually had to translate their own lines from english to spanish.

    Somehow this is still a great coming of age for latinos, specially with a rare representation of a gay cholo, hopefully someday we can have one written by us.

    This movie is complex. I've seen countless of these stories. Two best friends who only have each other starts to have issues when a woman comes in between them revealing that they're gay but still can't be with each other. The difference here is that even still after I've seen this movie in its entirely, I'm still not sure if Shane is anything other than straight.

    For once, the movie shows the relationship between Shane and Jonathan only through Jonathan…
