ambitious retelling of dario argento's suspiria, and by retelling it is a COMPLETE retelling, not remake. visually it's very well executed, however luca guadanino attempts to fit too much into the movie, even though it lasted an extra hour from the original. the historical context is an interesting addition, but does not contribute much to the plot. i think guadanino tried to play with the ambiguity of the plot and the characters but the more we dwell in the 'symbolic meanings and representations' the less enjoyable it became.
