  Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 2024

  I really liked how this movie started with an intriguing story line and promising protagonist arc. While it was quite silly to see a world where animals domesticated other animals, I was much more caught up on Nova/Mae’s liquid lip combo. Oh god, it was horrible. Girly had a Kylie lip kit shoved in her booty. No doubt that this movie  has great elements but the back half fell flat for me 😪

  Civil War 2024

  This movie looked appealing and the art direction was cool, but the story fell so flat. These white people were putting themselves in perilous situations and I didn’t know why. What were the stakes? It sort of wanted to be The Last of Us mixed with The Purge or something idk… just wished there was someee commentary on the obviously polarized & racist world they lived in. I didn’t leave the movie chewing on anything or felt anything for the characters. Oh well :/

  One thing Sydney Sweeney excels at is a shrill scream and producing a single tear to roll down her face. In this movie, we get to see her scream her way through the perils of organized religion. I did not enjoy this movie, however, I found myself feeling inspired by the strength of this virgin nun, in labor, who, within 10 minutes, murdered three people, committed arson, escaped through catacombs, and slaughtered her newborn baby. I thought to myself, if she can do that I should be able to get to work on time.

  Wow this movie was so bad. They were just running away the whole time and it was so boring. Did not make me feel empowered as a woman. I felt bad.
