Little Shop of Horrors 1986
Not sure what exactly possessed me to watch this movie last night, but I did mostly like it! It was very funny at times, especially Steve Martin’s and Bill Murray’s parts, and Audrey II is an icon lmao. I accidentally watched the director’s cut ending and it found it to be pretty sad and a bummer! Some of the songs slapped and I loved the studio-backlot vibe of the set and campiness throughout. Glad I watched this, not sure I’ll come back to it!

Seems Like Old Times 1980
this movie was fine! looovvveee me some Goldie Hawn and Charles Grodin! I usually also like Chevy Chase but it did feel like he was phoning it in on this movie. I loved how Goldie’s character hired multiple convicts within her home and adopted ten different dogs and cats <3 I love Chaos in films so this movie was fun, just didn’t quite hit the spot for me!

Effie Gray 2014
this film is interesting because it explores the need for physical touch, intimacy, and quite frankly, sex, in most human beings. Effie is deprived of it from her bastard of a husband, 🤢Ruskin🤢, to the point where she becomes ill and almost goes mad. I’ve been reading Fanny Moyes’ book Desperate Romantics recently, and this film had been on my radar for quite a while, so it was fun to finally see it and to see the Biggest Victorian Sex…

Star Wars 1977
I haven’t been on Letterboxd much since the year began because of a.) working at night and b.) I’ve been watching season 2 of The Mandalorian bc everyone at my work started yelling at me to watch it. I dearly love Mando and Baby Yoda (Grogu), for the record, but (SPOILERS) Luke’s appearance made me want to rewatch the original trilogy, which I hadn’t seen since I was a child and frankly vaguely remembered.
I remember watching A New Hope…
