I watched despite my lack of interest in the trailer. I thought the story was really heart warming, and admittedly there were moments I cried (because I’m a big baby)… I was especially impressed that it was based on a true story. Had the acting and execution of this movie not been subpar and cringey at times, I probably would have liked it more.
It was cool to learn more about Rastafarianism. I’m glad they focused more on Marley’s message rather than the drama within his relationship dynamics. I jammed out to reggae throughout the whole movie (And after because I love Stephen Marley… Everyone listen to Standing in love). One of those movies that you’re really glad you watched, but would probably only ever watch once.
This is my long awaited first Letterboxd review. I know the fans (… just Charlotte) were wondering which movie I would choose first to review. I was waiting for a special one to cross my path. Luckily, I came across this gem.
In my humble opinion, the cast was amazing. Jack Black is always incredible at what he does best, make people laugh. His characters in any film never fail to make me giggle, and this one was no exception.…
Not much to watch, whole lot to listen to… but still better than watching boys on a boat for 2 hours while a random lady listens to music behind you (Sorry Dot)
