This was a pretty, above average, spy movie. Not a lot I didn’t like about it and a lot I did like. The locations were great, the acting was pretty good, the story and writing were on par. There was a lot that was fairly predictable but a few places that the story took a different turn than expected. It wasn’t too heavy-handed on the girl-power agenda either. It was a spy movie with female spies, not a female movie with spies in it.
You have to get past the accents and then it’s a really good movie. The lead male actor was channeling too much Matthew McConaughey. The actress who played Angel did phenomenal. Even though they never actually show anything, you still feel the gut-wrenching awfulness that’s happening throughout. The post-ending could have been left out too. Overall, great movie. Great writing. Beautiful cinematography. Lots of feeling.
I really want to like this movie, and I do like the story and characters, but the song is the same song through the whole movie. It felt old and stale by the end of the movie. I don’t know how everyone can continue listening to it after watching. “It calls me” is the song I’m talking about. It’s apparently the only tune Moana knows cause it’s the only one she sings.
Close to equal with the first. Just as nerve racking. Not as many surprises in this one though. Most of the “surprises” were expected. If you liked the first, you’ll enjoy this one.
