Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales 2017
There was nothing new to this movie, and I don’t know why they keep making these.

Martin McDonagh is a master of being able to make you so incredibly depresssd on the outlook of the world while at the same time laughing your head off. The Shape of Water 2017
Visually amazing. The set design of an amped up 60s consumer America was brilliant in and of its self, but del Toro once again showed his mastery of the monster. No one else could have created such a wonderful and believable love story between a mute woman and The Missing Link from Monsters vs. Aliens. I wouldn’t say I really needed or wanted to know so much about the details of inter species relations but it wasn’t that distracting from the story so I can’t complain on a technical level.
