Pretty unique filmmaking that portrays a time and place through an anarchist form…Resists narrative conventions with limited ‘protagonists,’ plot, conflict, emotional valence, and instead opts for a hyper-naturalistic style where dialogue and character relationships are simply observed and overheard. Pure ‘show don’t tell’ that uses an excessively calm tone to keep it all real and perhaps defend anarchism as a peaceful, ordered practice.
