  Love any movie with a slo-mo fight scene and a final blooper reel with some dance bits. That was the best bit. Also everybody’s really funny. Especially the professor. Go watch it!

  This movie is the peak of early 2010's hipster aesthetic: so much exposed brick wall, leggings under skirts, and pre-online dating awkward exchanges. The entire movie is filmed in black and white, for god's sake. It derives from Liberal Arts Colleges in New York State, and lands in Brooklyn, where the protagonist Frances funnily fucks up as she stumbles through her life as a 27 year old.
  Despite all of this, this is a comfort movie. Yes, the subject matter comes off as shallow and disingenuous, it even drags on for toooo long at times. But the mindless positivity of the protagonist is immensely relatable.

  Black Girl 1966

  This movie accomplishes everything it’s set to do from the start. The closing sequence is just unforgettable. A beautiful, deep and painful look into the life of a young woman. The way that the French public was not ready for this in 1966 speaks volumes about their relationship to colonisation.
