  Nearly as good as A Woman Under the Influence. Gena Rowlands brings another total psychotic break that is awesome to watch. The ending is a little mixed for me. Show up to work trashed and save the day ha.

  In a lot of ways I feel like this is a perfect movie, and definitely Baker’s most impressive in terms of scope and ambition. Every scene after the first 45 minutes felt like the POW camp sequence in The Deer Hunter, some even stretch out in real time until the moment is thoroughly exhausted. Unfortunately, by the end of Anora I also felt pretty exhausted. Incredibly brilliant filmmaking that made me want to revisit some Cassavetes classics.

  At first I was feeling like, “wow, the plot of this movie literally became a Goosebumps book,” but it turned out a bit different than that. Actually pretty dark at times, and Hopkins has some very good scenes just on his own. Worth a watch if you like 70s horror.
