This would be a 7.5 on a 10 point scale. I enjoyed this film but felt that Zahler's direction focused so much on the concept of the film that he failed to achieve what this could have been. I loved the banter between Ridgeman (Mel Gibson) and Lurasetti (Vince Vaugn) compared to Henry (Tori Kittles) and Biscuit (Michael Jai White). Suspiria 1977
This is one of the most colorful horror films of the 70s I have seen. Having finally watched, I can also see how influential it was. Early Hollywood starlets Joan Bennett and Alida Valli lend their presence and expertise to help create Dario Argento's vibrant world. Jessica Harper's handling of her role also seems to be a precursor to what casting agents will look for in horror leading ladies for the next decade.
