Almost 2 hours and feels like 4.
Hugh Grant plays the role well, but the conceit is pretty obvious within the first few minutes and the way the plot rolls out is very contrived. The deep religious exposition gets tiresome quickly. The film could have played out as a giant creepy escape room story without the heavy footed theme.
It's a long wait for the one iconic abduction trauma scene. Still waiting for a new movie to try to find better pacing along with that level of unease.

Twenty-somethings work on a weed ranch, but little do they know that the obviously eccentric old Hollywood woman and her hillbilly kids are growing an evil cannabis! Mwahaha. "Cannabis is the key to eternal life!"

While a long standing iconic franchise, it's time to admit that Alien and its increasingly derivative variations of xenomorphs have hit the creative wall.
Romulus is a wonderfully shot film with terrific sets, style and cinematography. Unfortunately, it misses to deliver anything fresh to the series. From beginning to end, the film is stitched together with call-backs, recycled dialogue from the original films, and beats that are practically re-enactments.
