2001: A Space Odyssey 1968
Extremely pretentious movie, it fails to properly tell a story and trades it nearly entirely for visuals and predictions of future technology.
Many shots are unnecessarily long and everyone aside from HAL mumbles, it's very difficult to understand what anyone is saying without captions. I have trouble believing the actors are speaking English multiple times throughout the movie (those first lines within the elevator if you need a quick example).
