Past Lives 2023
This movie really resonated with me. Beautiful depiction of the complex ways in which moving countries/cultures/continents and leaving your loved ones behind changes you as a person. The protagonist never returns to her old life (can she?); personally, I tried. Didn't really work for me either, but watching this movie helped me make sense of the changing nature of our multiple selves.
As someone who's often been one who leaves, it makes me wonder when and to whom i'll be able to be someone who stays.
