Don't Look Up if it were actually a decent movie

About 10-15 years ago I watched half of this on the Sci-Fi channel at my grandparents' house. I then spent the next decade+ occasionally being reminded of it and wondering what the hell it was called,,, until now.
And, uh, it's, actually not as bad as I thought it'd be. Sure the story is pretty generic, the score does not fit at all, and the movie goes on like 30 minutes longer than it should, but for a low-budget sci-fi…
I think even if someone directly spoiled the plot of the movie to me, I still would have been blindsided by most of it.
Unfortunately, even as someone who usually enjoys Oshii's brand of slapstick humor, a lot of it didn't land for me here. Maybe because I've only ever seen it in his anime and it works better there? Oh well. The surreal elements outside of the comedy, and most the rest of the movie thankfully fare much better…
