Highlander 1986
Watched it on my friend’s folder of ‘not illegal’ downloads. He described the movie as ‘there’s a younger guy, and an older guy, and there can only be one. Watched it, pointed out the classic 80s cliches. Fell asleep during the final battle. 10/10

This movie has an interesting take on Napoleon to say the least. I get the intent may be to parody the way we sort of glamorize a misogynistic egocentric military dictator, and his toxic obsessive relationship with his first wife, but it does it in an excessive and almost confusing way.
The opening battle at Toulon does a good job at depicting Napoleon’s innovative strategy and also the squeamishness of a commander that was liked for his participation in battle…

I have a troubled opinion on this movie. I came in wanting to like it, a lot of historical movies end up disappointing me, and I personally really enjoyed it. Then a friend asked me why I didn’t give it 5 stars.
