my first time seeing an exorcist film and I was honestly let down. I was told the original was super scary so I had high expectations but honestly I was kinda relaxed watching this; beside the two to three jump scares💀. The religious talk also felt like very forced in certain conversations. Like mid conversation and all the sudden they’re talking about some guy named jumbo and goats? Idk 🤷🏼♂️. I thought having characters talk over eachother to create sense…
Didn’t realize this movie was literally freaky Friday + Scream. Dialogue was too forcefully woke; I sat there wondering, “is this how adults think gen z act?” I expected some laughs but got cringes instead. The only thing I will say that was clever was the way they had certain dialogue come full circle in the end. And they totally cast Vince Vaughn to play a teenage girl not a serial killer.
I personally really enjoyed this movie. It can seem slow but I was always engaged in the mystery of the tall grass. While the movie provides little explanation of what’s going on, it’s strength lies in how much it leaves up to interpretation (atleast when it comes to the rock). This movie also has one of, if not, THE MOST disturbing scene in horror movie history I have ever seen (will be showing my friends purely to see their reaction).…
