Emilia Pérez 2024
A lot has been said about everything wrong with this movie, rightly so. What sucks is it had potential. It’s a genuinely thrilling plot with some touching moments held back somewhat by being culturally insensitive but mostly by the god awful “music” and I put that in quotes because it really is that bad. And I’m someone who loves musicals. It’s embarrassing how much attention and praise this movie has gotten. I feel bad for the lead actresses who really seemed to be giving it their all but it wasn’t enough to save this flawed project.

Civil War 2024
A movie about a civil war centered around photojournalists? Hell yeah sounds like it would be right up my alley. But the execution… I think this film could have gone in more interesting directions in the end after great set up in the first two acts.
The acting, cinematography and action sequences are well done. I mostly was left with a very sick and nihilistic feeling by the end of this movie.
Main character dies and it’s never really acknowledged.…

How marvelous! Delighted.
It was an allegory about… well I’m not completely sure but it was wildly entertaining. Perhaps about how society will either corrupt or ridicule genuine enthusiasm and curiosity. One of the most unique films I’ve seen in a while
