  Quite intricate and interesting portrayal of motherhood than I’ve never seen before. There were some actions that I didn’t fully understand but that may just come from my lack of motherhood, so I don’t have the perspective. The last 10 minutes were quite shocking, but overall it was a beautifully told story.

  it was interesting to see the contrast between (1) the inner child who sees the world through a lens of playfulness and creativity, making the area they live into a variety of games and pastimes and (2) the exterior that moonee takes on as a result of her environment, reflecting her mother and the time they spend together. the intricacies of the mother-daughter relationship and moonee’s friendships show the reality of a community living in the shadows of mainstream media.
