  i walked in half-expecting an empty shell, a style-over-substance film with a barely-there plot and flashy visuals. instead i got something terrifying. 
  i haven’t read the book and don’t intend to, so knowing the story to the extent they teach it in most Polish schools, i watched „The Peasants” almost like any other film that i knew nothing about beforehand, without the cultural baggage and any story-related expectations. i found the dance sequences gorgeous and emotionally impactful, i absolutely loved…
