    Midnight Cowboy

    ★★★★½

I first saw Midnight Cowboy in the early 2000s when I was a teen and even though I'd watched movies from the sixties before, this one felt like the first real sixties movie I'd ever seen.

I think it's entirely fair to say that Midnight Cowboy was a seminal part of my film-watching education. It stuck with me for weeks afterwards and now, many years later, I find myself enjoying it even more than I did during that first viewing,…

    Black Widow

    ★★★½

Enjoyable! Not all of it worked for me but plenty did.

Without spoilers, here are some thoughts:

    - This a Marvel film with family at the heart of it. Not in a F&F sense of the word either.

    - Redhead Scarlett is my favourite.

    - There is one absolutely massive Bond reference here which I did not expect, but loved!

    - There is an end credits scene which is worth waiting for...

Had I ever happened upon any one of the other batshit mental scenes (and there are many) then I likely wouldn't have left it so long to watch Darkman in its entirety.

There's a scene towards the end when Peyton Westlake (yeah, I know right 🤷🏻‍♂️) runs off crying and he sounded so…

    Nobody

    ★★★★

Went to see this having done no research into the cast or film and knowing only that many had referenced John Wick in their reviews.

I had a blast. Some random thoughts:

-Nobody has some of the most enjoyably unique and engaging violence I've seen for a while. The fight scenes are so well done!

    - There are some great cut shots at the beginning and an awesome tracking shot to introduce Yulian.

    - Christopher Lloyd shuffling about wielding a…
