For a 215 minute movie... I'm genuinely surprised at how well "The Brutalist" moved. After watching the film, I'm still stunned at how this was made for just $10M. Just mightily impressive and a big step-up from Brady Corbet's previous effort in "Vox Lux".

Imagine being able to crank out something like this at 79. While it's no Fury Road, George Miller's "Furiosa" marks a great return to the world of Mad Max. Knowing that he couldn't make another Fury Road, Furiosa substitutes some of the non-stop action for more character work and world building. Even without Matt Reeves at the helm, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes marks another solid film in this long running franchise. While it feels a bit too long, and the pacing could be better, Wes Ball still delivers a visually beautiful and well acted entry.
