Woman of the Hour 2023
This film can only be directed through a woman’s perspective. Anna Kendrick was able to capture the fear/anxiety you feel the moment you realize you’re not safe. I was anxious, angry, wanted to cry and felt disturbed by the violent scenes. I like that they were careful with what scenes to show and showing only glimpses of the violence. The scenes focused on the feeling of knowing you’re not safe and the panic you feel in your body. The fear in the victim’s eyes the moment before it happens was so disturbing.

The Substance 2024
This one easily goes in my top list of fave horror films. The body horror was on another level and the production was 10/10 from the prosthetics to the sound effects, every detail was well thought of. The film doesn’t drag and the build up towards the ending was such an experience! I loved the plot and the themes and I think the concept is creative and well executed. I took some time to process everything after I watched it in the cinema and I would definitely watch again. All I can say is, I’m not gonna be eating shrimp for a while 😆
