Having read the book a number of years ago, I was curious to see how they would tell this story. Was not disappointed.
A film you experience more than watch, a transportive and heartbreaking piece of art. Would recommend reading + watching, both excellent in their own right.
Would also suggest reading about the Dozier School this is based on - extremely fucked up, and still so recent in history.
