The Brutalist 2024
I got the impression that the director’s aim was to make this an artistic, epic type movie. I kept thinking it was an actual person and that the director needed to make this person more interesting in some way. I’m not sure knowing he was a fictional character helps. I wanted to like this, but I’m finding it difficult. The score is mostly for the acting, which was great.

Everything I ever knew or believed about this country’s war on drugs is completely upended in this documentary. Do yourselves a favor and watch Narcos Mexico first and while you’re at it American Made with Tom Cruise. These will give you context for the very REAL story of Kiki Camerena and how his country let him down. This is an excellent documentary and one that will leave you angry. I know things like this happen behind the scenes everyday with our secret agents. It’s heartbreaking to see it brought to light. Watch it.

The Gentlemen 2019
Excellent caper movie! Quick dialogue with a lot of fast action. Every single actor does a fantastic job in their roles. One of my favorites is Colin Farrell. Just fantastic! Watch it without distraction so you follow along and don’t miss anything. The dialogue is part of the action. Well done. I’d watch that again jut to catch the things I most likely missed.
