  I saw this film immediately after finding out J.D. Vance was the vice presidential nominee and I knew nothing about him. I watched the movie knowing nothing going in and tried  to keep an open mind, politics aside.  This film itself was just OK, it was basically poverty porn and simply a dramatized version of JD Vance’s life and rise to success. Later, after finishing the movie and finding out how much JD Vance embellished his life, and how much less empathetic…
