  Surprised by how often un-fun this is! Cared little for the romance subplot, for which I am usually an easy get, and not just because the relationship interfered with the main trio getting to know each other as not girls, not yet women. Enjoyed the group scream-singing to “If It Makes You Happy” in a convertible on the open road.

  It’s always interesting to watch stories like this one. I don’t have a ton of extended family and the few relatives I have lived too far away to celebrate holidays together. Always kind of looked at broods like this with a mix of “thank god that chaos isn’t my life” and a longing for the instant ride-or-die community they provide, the through line.
