I’ve seen plenty of clips for this film, but watching it in full felt like watching puzzle pieces coming together.
I notice more details every time I watch this film. Both men are flawed fundamentally, but they make each other better. Tony is the uneducated one, and Shirley is the scholar. The roles are reversed and each of the two learn about the world from a different perspective.

It’s hard to find the right words for this film. One of the most horrifying movies I’ve ever seen. They dont teach you the horrors of WW2 in school, and it’s for good reason. War is truly a despicable thing, and this film brought it all to light.
Was this worth watching? Absolutely
Will I see it again? Probably not
One hell of a watch.
Whatever you came into this movie expecting, it probably wasn’t right. This movie is so interesting in 2024. It really makes you wonder what happened to old movies that weren’t about superheroes and DEI, but a group of friends who took a vacation. The sudden change in tone was very unexpected, quite brutal, and kept me on my toes. Not sure who to recommend this movie to, however I did enjoy the watch.
