I develop a hyper-fixation on this film for like 2 days every other year, it happened again.
I have a real affinity for it, mainly fuelled by childhood nostalgia, but also by the fact it's full of soul, surprisingly deep, and genuinely funny.
And yeah, if I was married to Franny, she would indeed by always right.
I think this film is, for me, what films should be.
Endlessly creative in its production, delicately cinematic, nuanced characters, and a beautiful, emotional story to tell.
The list of thoughts and feelings to take away from it is, fittingly, eternal, but the message I took was this:
We place too much value on outcomes. Just because something ends badly, that doesn't make it worthless. Learn to cherish the journey. All the little moments, good or bad, along the way, they mean something. Those moments are priceless.

This film is gut-wrenching. It is viscerally emotional to the highest degree. It had me on the verge of tears on numerous occasions. The characters are real, you understand them, you can relate to them, you go through every motion with them.
