It's another proof that you shouldn't watch a movie AFTER you've read a book. Unfortunately, much of the original is missing, including Hamlet's magnificent monologues...
As my classmate says, "Why isn't Hamlet wearing cropped stockings!?!??"and "Why does Hamlet look between 20 and 45?"
If you perceive the work as a separate picture, it's quite good. Good acting, wonderful cinematography and musical score.
