  THIS IS CINEMA
  Absolutely brilliant film. Pure art. Speaks wonderfully to our time and especially what it is to be a woman! It’s also sleek and stylish, shot beautifully. Soundtrack is pretty great too. Carey Mulligan is everything in this role, as pitch perfect as I’ve ever seen an acting performance. Jennifer Coolidge and Laverne Cox are great here too. Emerald Fennell is a genius filmmaker. I’m intrigued to see her career going forward!

  Don’t watch the trailer, though. It spoils too much.

  The Young Victoria 2009

  This movie is so good! Emily Blunt fits in the role like a glove. She portrays the young queen with youthful ferocity, grace, and cleverness. She is lovely in every frame she is in.

  This is such a unique action/crime movie, and so much better than I expected. Most of the film is an adrenaline rush. The surfing bits just make it more fun. The skydiving scene was euphoric, like you’re flying right along with them. Patrick Swayze was excellent in this role, and I really enjoyed Gary Busey here as well. Only took off half a star because I didn’t see where Keanu Reeves was that good of an actor. His line delivery is a bit stiff a lot of the time.

  12 Angry Men 1957

  Excellent film! Absolutely essential for any cinephile. Maybe even essential for everyone. Thought-provoking and well acted with fierce and at times humorous dialogue. Henry Fonda gives an understated yet impactful performance. It was fun to watch and guess which of the jurors would switch their vote next. The close up shots are brilliant; you can practically see the wheels turning in the character’s head.
