oh waiter!!!! more humanoid love stories please!!!! yeah so this was fantastic, GDT never misses except for when he does a couple times. i love the murky atmosphere created within the facility and michael shannon does a great job playing an absolute creep. i wish he maybe had a little more depth to his character but he’s pretty perfect. i also loved zelda constantly dropping anecdotes about her husband and we only see him in one scene but his characterization…

i’m extremely impressed with the fact that this was shot in 28 countries. such a wonderfully vivid and dark story that seamlessly blends fantasy with reality. manages to combine the princess bride and the wizard of oz and something else grand that i can’t put my finger on, perhaps pan’s labyrinth? alexandria absolutely stole my heart, she’s the soul of the film. lee pace is great as well and i could’ve spent hours watching the two of them spend the day together.
